Converting waste into biofuels

Biofuels are one of the key areas of research. The Center possesses excellent expertise in converting waste into biofuels. Our advanced genetic engineering laboratory here in MD has continued to work on genetically engineering microbes to increase the lipid content which aids in enhanced production of fuels.

Biofuels market in the United States are expected to grow to possibly 4 billion US gallons by 2020. However, they are being used mixed with fossil fuels or as additives.

Increased rates of conversion from decompose waste into fuels will help produce enhanced quality and quantity of biofuels.

We currently have 2 inventions in this research area that are patent pending
