Creating wetlands for capturing contaminants

We research on development of new ecological modelling tools to optimise parameters which maximise the impact of phytoremediation.

In the past, several researchers have attempted in extant mine sites aiming to construct artificial wetlands to restore contaminated-land sites to near-total carrying capacity of pre-mining times (Jenkins et al., 2012).
